Dann, Hamish, and the team came out to perform a complicated three phase and board upgrade, including sub boards in my sheds. I found the whole team to be polite, and hard working. It was a very challenging job, but Dann's team did not compromise on quality or safety. I'm impressed with thier professional approach to the job, and they left the site tidy and clean. I will absolutely be calling them again next time I need works done.

Highly recommend Ben from Danns Electrical, we couldn't be happier with his service. Ben quickly came up with solutions for our issues and did a fantastic job installing sensor lights and power points. He provided excellent, reliable and professional service, we wouldn't use anyone else. 5 Stars

Exceptional electrician, experience really makes all the difference! We honestly cannot recommend Dan highly enough! We'd been dealing with an incredibly frustrating, intermittent electrical issue in our kitchen for ages. The power would trip seemingly out of nowhere, sometimes only once every six months, making it almost impossible to pinpoint the cause. We'd spent so much time troubleshooting, unplugging appliances and trying to work out what on earth was going on. Just when we thought we'd figured it out, the problem would eventually happen again! We finally called Dan, and honestly, we were absolutely mind blown. Within less than five minutes of arriving, he had figured out the issue! After all the time we'd spent scratching our heads over it, watching him identify the problem so quickly was incredible. It really showed us the difference that genuine experience, technical knowledge and expertise make. What had been an ongoing headache for us was something Dan was able to work through almost immediately. We're so glad we called him. It's such a relief to have someone who genuinely knows their trade and can get to the bottom of a problem without hours of guesswork. If you're looking for an electrician who knows what they're doing, is experienced and can troubleshoot those frustrating electrical issues that others might struggle to pinpoint, give Dan a call. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and will absolutely be using him again. Thanks, Dan, you've earned every one of these five stars!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I hired Dann's Electrical to perform a switchboard upgrade at my home in Oct 2026. Communication from the outset was phenomenal and they instilled more confidence than the 3 other competitive others I'd invited to tender for the works. Pricing was more competitive to boot. When Dan's tradesman Hamish and apprentice Cody rocked up with the new board, due to unforeseen circumstances, it quickly became apparent that there was much more to the job than had initially been expected. This is after the Level 2 electrician had disconnected us from street power and left. There was no turning back now. Without going into too much detail, Hamish and Cody's day had gone from a reasonably paced knock-off-on-time job to an "oh f*************k" kinda day. Not once did the boys grumble or moan or swear (as I certainly would have.) Nor did they let a moment go to waste. They were in it now and they didn't stop until the job was done. Upon finishing the job, I couldn't fault a single thing from their professionalism, the presentation and cable management of the new board to their clean-up effort at the end of the job when all they would have wanted was to go home a take a long shower in silence to wash the helluva day off 'em. BONUS POINTS! As with any older home, some of the building materials the fellas encountered were aged out and brittle: a roof tile broke as they were putting it back in. What did they do? Silicon up the remains and not let me find out until the next big rain because "where are we going to find a replacement for a 40+ year old tile?" Nope! The industrious young blokes jumped on fb marketplace, miraculously tracked down a local seller who had something that matched and drove out to his place to pick up a replacement (with a spare for me to keep.) I said at the top of this spiel that if i could give 5 stars, I would. I hope you now understand why. Dan, if you're reading this: don't let Hamish and Cody out of your sight. Any employer would be lucky to have 2 young guns of this calibre in their stable. Hats off, boys!

Dan came out to my place early on a Saturday morning to fix problems with the wiring in my switchboard, so we could get our power back after a storm. He got us going and provided advice on what we might want to look at upgrading. Dan was very nice and, arrived when he said he would, and did a great job.
Test & tag

Testing that stands up to an audit

In NSW, plug-in equipment used where it can be damaged by moisture, heat, vibration, dust or knocks, must be regularly inspected and tested by a competent person, with records kept. Kitchens, workshops, warehouses and construction sites almost always qualify.

We test and tag to AS/NZS 3760, test your safety switches, and give you a register you can hand to an inspector, insurer or landlord. Items that fail are taken out of service, and we can repair or replace them on the spot.

Your test and tag duties

What SafeWork NSW says workplaces must do

Testing and record rules from SafeWork NSW.

Equipment in a tough environment? It must be tested

Hostile
environments that trigger testing

SafeWork NSW says testing applies where equipment is exposed to conditions like moisture, heat, vibration, mechanical damage, corrosive chemicals or dust.

A tag can be your record

4 details
every test record must show

SafeWork NSW says a test record must show who tested it, the date, the outcome and the next test date, and the record can be a tag on the equipment.

Keep the records until the next test

Records
kept until next tested or disposed of

SafeWork NSW says a record of testing must be kept until the equipment is next tested, or permanently removed from the workplace or disposed of.

Failed the test? It can’t stay in use

Isolate
unsafe equipment must be disconnected

SafeWork NSW says businesses must ensure any unsafe electrical equipment under their control is disconnected or isolated from its supply.

How often? It depends on the workplace

AS/NZS 3760
sets inspection and testing frequency

SafeWork NSW says testing frequency varies with the nature of the workplace. AS/NZS 3760 sets it out, and construction sites use AS/NZS 3012.

Who can test and tag? A competent person

Competent
trained, qualified or experienced

SafeWork NSW says plug-in equipment in these workplaces must be regularly inspected and tested by a competent person, someone with the knowledge and skills from training, qualification or experience.

FAQs

Test and tag questions

Ask us anything
How often does equipment need to be tested and tagged?

SafeWork NSW’s Code of Practice says plug-in equipment in higher-risk environments should be tested at least every 12 months, and more often in some, such as every six months for manufacturing and workshops. On construction and demolition sites, SafeWork NSW says at least every three months. AS/NZS 3760 sets the detailed intervals, and we’ll recommend a schedule for your site.

Does my workplace need test and tag?

If plug-in equipment is used where it can be damaged by moisture, heat, vibration, dust, chemicals or knocks, SafeWork NSW says it must be regularly inspected and tested by a competent person. Most kitchens, workshops, warehouses and sites fall into that.

Do you test safety switches too?

Yes. We test RCDs as part of the visit and record the results.

What happens to items that fail?

They’re tagged as failed and taken out of service. Where we can, we repair or replace leads and plugs on the spot.

Do you provide reports?

Yes, an itemised register with every item, result and next test date, ready for audits, insurers and landlords.

Can you test after hours?

Yes. We test outside business hours so staff aren’t without their equipment.

How much will it cost?

Site assessments are free, and our work is fixed price. We give you a fixed price before any work starts, so the price you agree to is the price you pay. There are no hidden fees.

Which areas do you cover?

All across Sydney. We look after sites in Wetherill Park, Kemps Creek and the western industrial precincts, plus Penrith, the Blue Mountains and the Hawkesbury.
