Dann, Hamish, and the team came out to perform a complicated three phase and board upgrade, including sub boards in my sheds. I found the whole team to be polite, and hard working. It was a very challenging job, but Dann's team did not compromise on quality or safety. I'm impressed with thier professional approach to the job, and they left the site tidy and clean. I will absolutely be calling them again next time I need works done.

Highly recommend Ben from Danns Electrical, we couldn't be happier with his service. Ben quickly came up with solutions for our issues and did a fantastic job installing sensor lights and power points. He provided excellent, reliable and professional service, we wouldn't use anyone else. 5 Stars

Exceptional electrician, experience really makes all the difference! We honestly cannot recommend Dan highly enough! We'd been dealing with an incredibly frustrating, intermittent electrical issue in our kitchen for ages. The power would trip seemingly out of nowhere, sometimes only once every six months, making it almost impossible to pinpoint the cause. We'd spent so much time troubleshooting, unplugging appliances and trying to work out what on earth was going on. Just when we thought we'd figured it out, the problem would eventually happen again! We finally called Dan, and honestly, we were absolutely mind blown. Within less than five minutes of arriving, he had figured out the issue! After all the time we'd spent scratching our heads over it, watching him identify the problem so quickly was incredible. It really showed us the difference that genuine experience, technical knowledge and expertise make. What had been an ongoing headache for us was something Dan was able to work through almost immediately. We're so glad we called him. It's such a relief to have someone who genuinely knows their trade and can get to the bottom of a problem without hours of guesswork. If you're looking for an electrician who knows what they're doing, is experienced and can troubleshoot those frustrating electrical issues that others might struggle to pinpoint, give Dan a call. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and will absolutely be using him again. Thanks, Dan, you've earned every one of these five stars!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I hired Dann's Electrical to perform a switchboard upgrade at my home in Oct 2026. Communication from the outset was phenomenal and they instilled more confidence than the 3 other competitive others I'd invited to tender for the works. Pricing was more competitive to boot. When Dan's tradesman Hamish and apprentice Cody rocked up with the new board, due to unforeseen circumstances, it quickly became apparent that there was much more to the job than had initially been expected. This is after the Level 2 electrician had disconnected us from street power and left. There was no turning back now. Without going into too much detail, Hamish and Cody's day had gone from a reasonably paced knock-off-on-time job to an "oh f*************k" kinda day. Not once did the boys grumble or moan or swear (as I certainly would have.) Nor did they let a moment go to waste. They were in it now and they didn't stop until the job was done. Upon finishing the job, I couldn't fault a single thing from their professionalism, the presentation and cable management of the new board to their clean-up effort at the end of the job when all they would have wanted was to go home a take a long shower in silence to wash the helluva day off 'em. BONUS POINTS! As with any older home, some of the building materials the fellas encountered were aged out and brittle: a roof tile broke as they were putting it back in. What did they do? Silicon up the remains and not let me find out until the next big rain because "where are we going to find a replacement for a 40+ year old tile?" Nope! The industrious young blokes jumped on fb marketplace, miraculously tracked down a local seller who had something that matched and drove out to his place to pick up a replacement (with a spare for me to keep.) I said at the top of this spiel that if i could give 5 stars, I would. I hope you now understand why. Dan, if you're reading this: don't let Hamish and Cody out of your sight. Any employer would be lucky to have 2 young guns of this calibre in their stable. Hats off, boys!

Dan came out to my place early on a Saturday morning to fix problems with the wiring in my switchboard, so we could get our power back after a storm. He got us going and provided advice on what we might want to look at upgrading. Dan was very nice and, arrived when he said he would, and did a great job.
Home upgrades

Power and lighting where you actually need it

Dann's Electrical upgrades homes across Penrith, Western Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury, often bundling several small jobs into one visit.

Most homes weren't wired for the way we live now: phones charging in every room, home offices, big TVs, air con and smart devices. So you end up with power boards and double adaptors everywhere.

We add powerpoints and USB outlets where you need them, swap old halogens for LEDs, install ceiling fans and smart switches, and check your switchboard can handle the extra load. Lighting we install carries a 7-year warranty.

Upgrade benefits

What an electrical upgrade does for your bills and safety

Energy and safety facts from the Australian and NSW Governments.

Devices on standby still cost you

6%
of home electricity used on standby

Your Home says standby power contributes 6% of electricity use in the average home. A standby controller or switched power board can cut it.

Short on powerpoints? Don't stack plugs

Fire risk
from stacked plugs and adaptors

NSW Fair Trading says stacking plugs can overload the power point and cause a fire. More powerpoints is the safer fix.

Moving a powerpoint yourself? Don't

Insurance
DIY electrical work can void your policy

The NSW Government says DIY electrical work is dangerous and illegal and can void your insurance. That includes installing, replacing or moving powerpoints, lights and switches, and installing or replacing ceiling fans.

FAQs

Home upgrade questions

Ask us anything
Can you add powerpoints and USB outlets?

Yes. We add single and double powerpoints, USB and USB-C outlets, outdoor weatherproof points and data or TV points wherever you need them.

Will LED lights really save money?

Yes. The Australian Government says LEDs use about 75% less energy than halogens, last 5 to 10 times longer and usually pay back their cost in under a year.

Can you install ceiling fans?

Yes, fans with or without lights, on remotes, wall controls or smart switches. We check the ceiling mounting and wiring so the fan runs quietly and safely.

Do you install smart switches?

Yes. We install smart switches and dimmers for lights and fans that you can control from your phone, on timers or by voice.

Will I need a switchboard upgrade?

Sometimes. If your board is full, has old fuses or no safety switches, we'll recommend upgrading it before adding circuits. We'll tell you upfront.

What warranty do you give?

Lighting we install carries a 7-year warranty and switchboards carry 25 years, parts and labour.

How much will it cost?

Quotes are free, and our work is fixed price. We give you a fixed price before any work starts, so the price you agree to is the price you pay. There are no hidden fees.

Are your electricians licensed and insured?

Yes. Dann's Electrical holds NSW electrical contractor licence 399632C and carries $20 million public liability insurance. We're CM3 certified and NECA members.
