Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains how Dann’s Electrical Pty Ltd (ACN 667 715 979, NSW electrical contractor licence 399632C) collects, uses, stores and shares personal information. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Dann’s Electrical. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to quote, book and carry out your electrical work, and to run our business. That can include:

  • your name, phone number and email address
  • the address of the property or site where the work is, plus access details such as gate codes, key arrangements or tenant contact details
  • details and photos of the job, such as a photo of your switchboard
  • your business name and role, if you contact us for a business
  • quotes, invoices, payment records and job history
  • records of our calls, emails, texts and form enquiries with you
  • information about how you use our website, collected through cookies and similar tools (see “Our website, cookies and analytics” below)

How we collect it

Most of what we hold comes straight from you: when you call, text or email us, send an enquiry through our website form, or talk to us on site. Sometimes we receive your details from someone arranging work on your behalf, such as a property manager, strata manager, real estate agent or builder. If you leave us a Google review, that review is public and we may show it on our website.

How we use it

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and give you a quote
  • book, carry out and follow up on your job
  • meet our legal and safety obligations, such as lodging a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work
  • send invoices and manage payments
  • honour our warranties
  • send you information and offers we think you’ll find useful (see “Marketing” below)
  • understand how people use our website and improve it, and measure how our advertising performs

Marketing

We may send you emails or text messages about our services and offers, such as NSW Energy Savings Scheme discounts. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email, replying STOP to a text, or calling or emailing us. Opting out of marketing won’t affect messages about a job you’ve booked with us.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We only share it where it’s needed to do your job, run our business or meet the law. Depending on the work, we may share it with:

  • the NSW Government’s eCert portal (Building Commission NSW), where we lodge Certificates of Compliance for Electrical Work
  • Endeavour Energy and Plus ES, for network connection, service line and metering work
  • Ecovantage, our Accredited Certificate Provider, and the licensed trades we work with, for upgrades under the NSW Energy Savings Scheme
  • other trusted contractors who help us complete a job
  • providers of the business tools we use, such as email (Microsoft), our website and our accounting software
  • advertising and analytics providers (see below)
  • government agencies, regulators or others where the law requires or allows it

Some of these providers, including Google, Meta and Microsoft, may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States.

Our website, cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Our website uses cookies and similar tools from:

  • Google Analytics, to see how visitors find and use our website
  • Google Ads and the Meta pixel, to measure our ads and show our ads to people who have visited our website
  • Trustindex, to display our Google reviews
  • Google Maps, to show a map of where we are
  • Google Fonts, to load the typefaces on our website

These tools collect information such as your device, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit. They don’t tell us who you are. When you send our website form, we receive the details you enter.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also manage personalised ads in your Google and Meta account ad settings, and use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Some parts of our website may not work properly if you block cookies.

How we store and protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it for as long as we need it for your job, our warranties, and our legal, tax and compliance record-keeping. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below. We’ll respond within a reasonable time, and we may need to confirm your identity first.

Questions or complaints

If you have a question about this policy or a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, contact us first and we’ll work with you to fix it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) on 1300 363 992 or at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
