Needed an emergency call out as I lost all power to my house. Dan and his team were happy to help, didn’t take advantage of my circumstance and were very reasonably priced Had all power back in witching 2 hours of my call. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience dealing with Dan! His communication was top-notch from start to finish, the quality of his work on my electrical box was exceptional, and his pricing was very fair. A massive shout-out to Liz as well—she was an absolute superstar with the paperwork, incredibly helpful, and great to deal with. I highly recommend them for any electrical needs, especially if you're looking for a level two electrician!

Isaac and Josh both did an excellent job. They showed great attention to detail and took real pride in their work from start to finish. The area was left clean and well-presented, reflecting their strong work ethic and commitment to doing the job properly. Their effort and positive attitude did not go unnoticed, and they should be commended for the high standard they maintained.

LEVEL 2 ELECTRICAL WORK WE PROVIDE

The NSW ASP Scheme breaks Level 2 into four classes (2A, 2B, 2C, 2D). Most Level 2 electricians hold one or two. Dann's Electrical holds all four. That means you don't get bounced between contractors mid-job because someone's missing a class.

LEVEL 2A - DISCONNECT & RECONNECT

What it covers: Disconnecting and reconnecting supply at the connection point - the bit where the service line meets your installation. Includes energising and de-energising properties at the network device on the main switchboard at the customer's request.

LEVEL 2B - UNDERGROUND SERVICE LINE WORK

What It Covers: Everything to do with underground service conductors. Installing new underground service lines, replacing damaged ones, relocating or upgrading existing lines, and disconnecting and reconnecting at the point of common coupling and the connection point. Also includes replacing the service protection device and meter protection device fuses, service active and neutral links, and replacing the network operator's security seal in accordance with Endeavour's procedures.

LEVEL 2C - OVERHEAD SERVICE LINE WORK

What It Covers: The same scope as 2B but for overhead service lines. Installing new overhead services, replacing existing ones, relocating points of attachment, upgrading capacity, and disconnecting and reconnecting overhead supply at the point of common coupling.

LEVEL 2D - METERING WORK

What It Covers: Installation, removal and commissioning of whole-current metering equipment for meter types 5 and 6 — the standard residential and small-to-mid commercial smart meters. Also covers removing and replacing the network operator's security seal in accordance with the distributor's procedures.

Frequently asked questions

Choosing the right electrician shouldn’t leave you guessing. That’s why we’ve pulled together answers to the most common questions our clients ask about our Level 2 electrical work.

Didn’t find what you’re looking for? Feel free to contact us – our team is always happy to help!

Is a Level 2 ASP the same as a Level 2 electrician?

Yes. In NSW the two terms are used interchangeably. Both refer to an electrician with NSW Government ASP accreditation plus active authorisation from a Distribution Network Service Provider — in our case, Endeavour Energy.

Can a regular licensed electrician do Level 2 work?

No. A standard electrical contractor’s licence covers work inside your installation – wiring, powerpoints, switchboards on the consumer side, lighting. It does not authorise the holder to touch service lines, the point of attachment, the connection point, the network device, or to install meters. Doing so without Level 2 accreditation and DNSP authorisation is an offence under the Electricity Supply Act 1995 (NSW).

Do you do residential Level 2 work or commercial only?

Both. The majority of our work is commercial and industrial – fit-outs, mains upgrades, defect rectification, new connections – but we do residential Level 2 work across Penrith, the Hawkesbury, Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. Disconnects, reconnects, meter installations, point-of-attachment relocations, supply upgrades.

Are you authorised by Ausgrid or Essential Energy?

Our authorisation is currently only with Endeavour Energy. Endeavour’s network covers Western Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Hawkesbury, the Southern Highlands and the Illawarra – the area where 99% of our work sits. For metering work, our Plus ES authorisation is national in scope.

Why does it matter that you hold all four Level 2 classes?

Because most Level 2 ASPs don’t. A 2D-only ASP can install a meter but can’t move the service line. A 2A-only ASP can disconnect but can’t repair underground damage. When a job needs more than one class (which most commercial jobs do) a partial-class ASP has to subcontract to another ASP. That means more vehicles on site, longer timelines, split invoicing, and a higher chance of something falling between the cracks. We do the whole job under one accreditation.

How quickly can you get to a Level 2 emergency?

For supply faults, storm damage and Endeavour defect notices, we run a 24/7 callout across Penrith, Western Sydney, the Hawkesbury and the Blue Mountains. Same-day attendance is standard. Bear in mind that some Level 2 work (particularly new connections and capacity upgrades) requires an Endeavour application and inspection, which adds time we don’t control.

What's your call-out fee?

There’s no call-out fee for quoted work. For emergency 24/7 attendance, after-hours rates apply – we’ll confirm the rate before we attend so there are no surprises.

We'd love to hear from you
