Is this a government rebate I have to claim back?

No. Unlike traditional rebates where you pay full price and wait for a refund, the Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) works as an upfront discount. We handle the creation of “Energy Savings Certificates” through our accredited partner and deduct that value directly from your quote. You only pay the remaining balance.

How much will I actually save on my power bills?

While savings vary based on your usage, the average household replacing an old electric hot water system with a heat pump sees a reduction in water-heating costs of 60% to 70%. This typically translates to a saving of $400–$600 per year on electricity bills.

Who is eligible for these energy-saving incentives?

Most NSW households and small businesses are eligible. To qualify, you generally need to be replacing an existing, inefficient system (like an old electric storage or gas hot water heater) with a high-efficiency model. If you have already received an ESS discount for the same appliance at your current address, you may not be eligible again.

Do I need to use a specific brand of appliance?

Yes. To qualify for the discount, the product must be on the NSW Government’s Approved Products List. These items have been rigorously tested for energy efficiency and performance in Australian conditions. We only supply and install brands that meet these high standards and come with the required warranties.

What happens to my old unit?

As part of the scheme’s compliance, we are required to decommission and remove your old, inefficient appliance. This ensures it is recycled properly and – more importantly – that it isn’t put back into use elsewhere, which would defeat the purpose of reducing the state’s total energy demand.

What kind of warranty do I get?

Under the 2026 rules, all heat pump hot water systems installed through the scheme must come with a minimum 5-year warranty covering the tank, the compressor, and all major components. This provides you with long-term peace of mind that your investment is protected

Are your installers "from the government"?

No. We are an independent, licensed electrical business. To offer these discounts, we partner with an Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP) who is authorised by the NSW Government (IPART) to manage the scheme’s administration and compliance.
