Pitt Town local knowledge
Facts from government and utility sources, and what they mean for your power. Each card links to its source.
NSW SES says the low-lying areas between Richmond and Pitt Town are the most affected in a minor flood. Anything that has been in floodwater, including power points, appliances and the hot water system, shouldn’t be used until a licensed electrician has checked it.
NSW Government figures say up to 1,800 house fires each year could have been prevented by getting the wiring checked and having safety switches installed. We test switchboards, safety switches and wiring for homes in Pitt Town, 24/7 if it can’t wait.
A private power pole is the owner’s responsibility, Endeavour Energy says. Get it inspected before bushfire season. Any repair that disconnects at the point of supply needs a Level 2 ASP.
Separate houses make up 95.9% of Pitt Town homes, with 2.7 cars each on average. Houses usually have their own switchboard and supply. We check yours can take a charger first.
NSW landlords must check smoke alarms every year, replace them within 10 years of manufacture, and use a licensed electrician to repair or replace hard-wired ones.
Penrith Lakes hit 48.9°C in 2020, taking the Sydney basin heat record Richmond had held since 1939. Air con runs flat out on days like that, so have your board checked before the next heatwave.

Not until it’s been checked. NSW SES advises turning off electricity before going back inside, not switching on lights or appliances, and having a licensed electrician check your wiring and appliances first. We inspect flood-affected homes and businesses and tell you what’s safe to use.
Endeavour Energy says privately owned poles and lines are the property owner’s responsibility, and recommends an inspection before bushfire season and after major storms. Endeavour Energy says to keep a 3-metre safety clearance from powerlines, and owners look after trees near lines on their land. If a repair means disconnecting at the point of supply, it needs a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider, and we are one.
A Level 2 electrician is an Accredited Service Provider authorised to work on the network side of your property. That includes connecting and disconnecting power, repairing and upgrading service lines, and metering. Regular electricians can’t do this work. Dann’s holds Endeavour Energy authorisation for service line work and Plus ES authorisation for contestable metering.
